For many years, parting with money had a tangible element to it. However, with the rise of digital currencies, our connection to our finances has become more abstract. Swiping a card doesn't evoke the same tangible sense of loss as handing over physical cash. Consequently, our spending increases, often without deliberate thought.
This wearable vest aims to bridge that gap, giving a physical sensation every time we spend. Designed with inspiration from Japanese under-armour, the vest combines style with functionality. It features an adjustable tension strap connected to a servo motor at the back, ensuring a snug yet comfortable fit. All essential electronics are seamlessly integrated into the vest, eliminating the need for external attachments.
Upon making a payment, the vest detects it and briefly tightens the strap around the wearer's chest, instilling a momentary discomfort. This sensation, over repeated use, gets linked with the feeling of spending, fostering more mindful expenditure. This wearable prompts users to think twice, making each digital transaction a conscious choice.
